The UMass Global Library offers students and staff access to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). Coverage includes access to content from 4 years ago to the present. UMass Global students and employees can access the paper's online edition from any device. Users of smaller devices might want to download the WSJ app from the Google or Apple app stores for simplified navigation and easier reading.

Register for Wall Street Journal Access

  • Click this UMass Global WSJ sign-up link or visit WSJ.com where you can search for UMass Global's school access.
  • When you are directed to UMass Global's single sign on page, enter your usual UMass Global email address and password.

After verifying your credentials, you will be directed to WSJ.com to create your account. Complete all required fields:

  • Select Account Type: Professor, Staff, or Student.
  • Enter your first & last names.
  • Enter your UMass Global email address with either of the following domains: 
    @umassglobal.edu OR @mail.umassglobal.edu
    Other email domains will not be recognized.
  • Create a password. You are not required to use the same password that you use for as your UMass Global accounts.
  • If you are a student, you will also enter your expected graduation month and year.
Your email address and the password you selected will become your login credentials when accessing content directly on WSJ.com or using the WSJ app.

  • After successfully creating an account, you will receive a confirmation email. Click Go To WSJ.com.
  • If your name does not appear in the top right corner, click Sign In, enter your user name, and send a confirmation code to your email to verify your account:

  • After confirming your registration, you will be able to sign on directly from WSJ.com.
You may need to send additional confirmation codes to your email after you sign off and sign on again.

Annually Renew your Wall Street Journal Credentials

Your access to WSJ will expire each year on the anniversary of your registration. You will receive an email notification seven days prior to your account's expiration.  In order to confirm your ongoing affiliation with UMass Global:

  • Click the link provided in the email or go to WSJ.com.
  • Confirm or update your information as directed.
  • Return to logging in using your WSJ account from the website or app. 

Frequently Asked Questions about WSJ

Can I Access the WSJ After I Graduate?
You will be unable to access WSJ through the UMass Global Library after you graduate. However, for graduating students, WSJ offers a discounted subscription priced at $2 per month for the first year, which is a 95% discount on standard consumer rate. Students who take advantage of the offer will continue to get a discounted rate for the next 7 years!

What if I Already Have a Personal Subscription to WSJ?
If you are currently a personal subscriber to WSJ and would like to cancel that without penalty, contact a WSJ representative at academicsupport@dowjones.com or 1-800-JOURNAL. Let them know that you now have access through your university.
