EndNote

Overview

EndNote is a third party citation management program that helps you search for, collect, save, organize, annotate, and format research material that you find in library databases an on websites. It also enables you to import your citations directly into a document and automatically formats bibliographies in a variety of styles.

This guide will help you get started using EndNote. Additional help is available at EndNote's training page

Note: This guide was updated for EndNote 21 which was released in May 2023.

Although EndNote is required for some courses taught at UMass Global, it is not a free service. You can activate a 30-day trial before you purchase access. Visit the EndNote website for available purchase options. Zotero is a similar, free service
