EdD Students: Next Steps for Online Submission

Overview

All EdD students are required to submit their thesis or dissertation online through ProQuest's Dissertations & Theses Global database AND UMass Global Digital Commons. After completing the Initial Steps for Library Submission and receiving approval from the Dissertations and Theses Librarian, please complete the two-step process outlined below:

  1. Next Steps for ProQuest Submission
  2. Next Steps for Digital Commons Submission

These two steps may be completed at the same time. You do not need to wait for a confirmation from ProQuest in order to submit your dissertation to the UMass Global Digital Commons.


How To: Submit your Dissertation to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses

  1. Go to the ProQuest ETD Administrator site and set up an account.

    Click on the Log In Button and fill out the form to create an account

  2. Follow the instructions at the ProQuest site to submit the dissertation/thesis.
    1. By default, submission to ProQuest will be free. However, there are a few extra services you can purchase and pay for with a credit card.
    2. ProQuest will also give you the option to order printed, bound copies of your dissertation/thesis in a variety of sizes.
  3. The dissertation/thesis will be forwarded by ProQuest to the Dissertations and Theses Librarian for final approval. Students will receive an email informing them that their submission has completed all the necessary checks.

How To: Submit Your Dissertation to UMass Global Digital Commons

All EdD students must post their dissertations in UMass Global Digital Commons, an open access (public) database for the scholarly and creative work of University of Massachusetts Global's faculty, students, and staff. University of Massachusetts Global Digital Commons provides you with a permanent online home for your scholarship, inclusion in Google Scholar, and monthly statistics so you can gauge how much impact your research is having.

To submit to University of Massachusetts Global Digital Commons:

  1. Go to UMass Global Digital Commons and set up a new account via the My Account link at the top of the left sidebar (under the large banner image).

    Click on the My Account link to set up a new account

  2. Click Submit Research in the Author’s Corner on the left hand sidebar.
    Click on Submit Research in the Author's Corner and follow the instructions to submit your dissertation
  3. For EdD Dissertations, click on the Dissertations and theses link. 
  4. Follow the instructions on screen to upload your dissertation. Please make sure this is the library-approved version.
