This book was written to provide students with an introduction to the field of education.

This book is the newest iteration of a project that began way back in the Fall of 2006. This book was written, read, and studied by Undergraduate college students enrolled in their first education course.

Pre-service teachers require a strong foundation that includes an understanding of the student’s motivation for becoming a teacher, reflection on the ethics of an educator, awareness of and identification of their own philosophies of education, and an understanding of twenty-first-century skills and literacies.
