Finding and Downloading eBooks

Finding eBooks

The UMass Global Library is fully remote and thus provides access to books in electronic form (eBooks) only. You can search our databases for specific titles or search our eBook collections by topic.

Textbooks are generally not available in the library's collections.

If You Know the Exact Title You Want
When you know the exact title of a book you want to access, you can start on the UMass Global Library's website and enter the title of the book you need in the search engine's search box. If you find the book you want, click on its title to view metadata and possibly a summary, then click on the "full text," .pdf, or EPUB link to access it. More information about these options can be found at How to Use eBooks.

If the title contains common words and your initial search doesn't get you directly to the book you wanted, try changing the dropdown menu next to the title you typed to Title. This will direct the database to only look at the title fields for all the records in the database.

If You Are Browsing for Books by Topic
If you want to search for eBooks on a topic but don't have a specific title in mind, you can direct Global Search to find only eBooks. Do this by clicking the eBooks limiter under Source Type on the left side of the screen after your initial search.
